If you have packed your “virtual bags” (As my friend Gina says) and are following us here is the next installment…
We stayed in Holt Florida, about 30 miles east of Pensacola. We stayed at Rivers Edge RV Campground. It was small, quiet and in a nice setting. We arrived there at about 8:45 last night, still light out and we were able to find a nice spot. Got parked, plugged in and set up the satellite, got into bed about 9:30 and started to watch some TV, and soon we were all asleep. This morning we got up, took Bonnie for a walk and checked out the campground. It is right on the Yellow River. Kate got a couple pictures as you can see; it is very pretty and makes her think that it is what the “Old Florida” must have looked like. The Cypress Tree (we think) with the large root around the bottom and the river flowing gently by it.
Now we’re in the Central time zone, moving our watches one hour earlier, we will stay in the Central time zone until we get into New Mexico and Colorado, they are another hour earlier, in the Mountain Time zone! Today we left at about 8:40 this morning and are heading out of Florida, through Alabama, Mississippi and ending up in Louisiana.
It’s now 4:00 and we’re at the Paragon Casino’s RV Park! It is beautiful here, with concrete sites and they are all pull throughs, this means we don’t have to unhook the Jeep unless we go somewhere. You can see in the pictures they are all level and have concrete picnic tables at each site as well. The security is constantly driving by and a shuttle takes you to the casino just behind our campground, (you can see the tall building in the background of the one picture). We plugged in, took Bonnie for a walk and took the shuttle to the casino for dinner. Played a few slots and got back to the RV by 7:30. Tomorrow (Friday) we head for Texas…
Pictures will be added Friday morning...
